Portland, Ore. – January 9th, 2013Viewpoint Construction Software® has acquired mobile solutions provider, ACS Connect, which furthers its commitment to bring value-enhancing products to customers and the construction industry. The acquisition allows Viewpoint to accelerate the expansion of its mobile product offering for both users of Viewpoint V6 Software® as well as customers of other ERP or accounting packages.

Viewpoint partnered with ACS Connect to bring Viewpoint’s Mobile Field Manager to market in August 2012, and the product generated significant enthusiasm amongst Viewpoint’s customers. From the success of the Mobile Field Manager launch, it became clear that contractors had a need for mobile applications that could capture and deliver meaningful information directly to and from the jobsite. Viewpoint quickly acted on this realization, bringing both the ACS product and team to Viewpoint to rapidly build and expand upon their mobile product platform. Mobile Field Manager will be sold as a point solution that can be integrated with other construction accounting and project management solutions or as an integrated component of Viewpoint V6.

“We are excited to hear the recent news about ACS Connect and Viewpoint," says David Moore, VP of Finance at Tarlton Corporation, a large general contractor based in St. Louis, Mo. "Their products are already best in class and with their future development under one roof, it can only mean better products that increase and stretch the capabilities of our team.”

“We are secure in our selection of Viewpoint as a long-term collaborative business partner and see this acquisition as an investment in continuing to offer innovative and valuable products to customers. The single biggest benefit Mobile Field Manager has brought to the table is the efficient and accurate allocation of labor resources to our general ledger. Mobile Field Manager has proven itself vastly superior to the process we previously employed, saving us significant time and money,” continued Moore.

According to Viewpoint CEO Jay Haladay, “Mobile technology is revolutionizing how the construction industry is doing business. Electronically capturing and reporting data from the field has become a necessity in improving efficiencies and is needed for those in the industry to stay competitive. Our acquisition of ACS Connect gives us the ability to leverage and deploy mobile technology to all of our products. The ability to easily interact with all Viewpoint software on mobile devices is an important foundational function and this acquisition gives us an organizational capability to address this need."
