Government Facility Project
The Department of Defense in Australia initiated a $900 million works program to upgrade accommodations at bases in Australia. The overall project is a 33-year contract for the finance, design, construction, operation and maintenance of 3,015 permanent units on 14 defense bases. Pindan’s project scope includes 268 units at HMAS Stirling on Garden Island near Rockingham and an additional 60 units at Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne. HMAS Stirling is the Royal Australian Navy’s base located on Garden Island, south of Perth in Western Australia. It provides operational and logistical support to the navy’s surface fleet, submarines and aircrafts. Campbell Barracks is an Australian Army base located in the coastal suburb of Perth. SIG was selected under tender to work on the project because of its working relationship with Pindan. SIG worked closely with the contractor to ensure the project was completed on time and the workmanship was not compromised.
