Telligent Masonry, LLC, Rockville, Maryland, has always considered charity to be a core component of its corporate structure, upholding that commitment for more than 62 years by giving back to communities in the greater Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. The firm has stayed involved by completing projects for local organizations, making charitable donations to multiple foundations and volunteering in fundraisers throughout the DMV.
In July 2018, Telligent Masonry volunteered manhours and made in-kind donations to build a fenced-in patio for the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. The work resulted in a beautiful place of respite for the coalition’s dedicated employees, who work tirelessly to end homelessness in Montgomery County, Maryland.
That same summer, Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church came to Telligent Masonry for assistance in completing interior and exterior columns, piers and door trims on its building. The Telligent Masonry team also donated labor services to relocate a playhouse for the Katherine Thomas School, which specializes in aiding students with learning disabilities from preschool through 12th grade.
Telligent Masonry has made donations to a large variety of charities throughout the D.C. metro area, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Anacostia Economic Development Corporation and Children’s National Miracle Network’s Race for Every Child. In addition to donating money, employees have participated in fundraisers for groups such as Catholic Charities and Gallagher Services, as well as joining the Walk to End Lupus Now.
Just recently, Telligent Masonry volunteered in an event for Women Giving Back, a clothing drive for women and children in crisis. Volunteers not only sorted and stocked clothing, but also served as personal shoppers.
The team also volunteers in an annual fundraiser called Crush Hunger organized by Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington. This event consists of harvesting fresh organic vegetables (and then performing any additional prep work) so they can be donated to the Manna Food Center. In addition, Telligent Masonry helps maintain the farm and builds new structures, such as gazebos.
On the workforce side, Telligent Masonry is heavily involved with the D.C. Students Construction Trades Foundation, which supports high schoolers’ interest in construction by teaching them about the industry and providing access to hands-on learning activities. A Telligent Masonry team member also volunteers as a member of the foundation’s executive council.
