In accordance with President Trump’s Executive Order 13813, the U.S. Department of Labor’s final rule allowing more employers to form association health plans took effect this month. Self-employed individuals who employ other people have always been able to join an AHP; now, self-employed individuals with no other employees can join an AHP, along with their families. Information about the final rule and related resources are available on the DOL’s website.
