Last month, Liskow announced that it has grown its Business Transactions practice with the addition of Caroline Lafourcade, a board certified tax law specialist (as certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization) and leader in the Louisiana tax law bar. Lafourcade joins the firm’s New Orleans office as a shareholder and brings nearly 30 years of experience advising individuals and businesses on federal taxation and Louisiana state and local tax matters.

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. Announces New Leadership Structure for Southern Pacific

On June 17, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announced the creation of an innovative leadership structure to support the evolution of the firm’s Southern Pacific region, comprised of San Diego, Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Las Vegas. Consistent with the new structure, Mike Myers has been named CEO, Southern Pacific; Jim Madrid has been named president, Southern Pacific; Paul Erb has been promoted COO, Southern Pacific; and Suzy Cruden has been promoted to senior vice president of strategy. All four executives are long-term employees of McCarthy.

42-Year Gilbane Veteran Edward T. Broderick to Become Chief Executive Officer, Steven T. Halverson to become Non-Executive Chair of the Board, Succeeding Thomas F. Gilbane, Jr.

On June 18, Gilbane, Inc., the parent organization to Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company, announced that the board of directors has appointed Edward T. Broderick, a fifth-generation member of the Gilbane family and a 42-year company veteran with deep expertise in building, development, and industry innovation, as chief executive officer, effective October 1, 2024. Broderick who currently serves as president and CEO of Gilbane Development Company, succeeds Thomas F. Gilbane, Jr. as he prepares to retire from his longstanding dual role as chairman and CEO of Gilbane, Inc. As part of its succession plan, the board also named current board director Steven T. Halverson, the retired CEO and chair of The Haskell Company as non-executive chair of the Gilbane, Inc. board of directors, effective January 1, 2025, assuming the board chair position from Gilbane, Jr.

Williams Mullen Strengthens Construction Practice with the Addition of Daniel Felsen and James Carney

Jones Walker Appoints William Underwood as Atlanta Office Head

On June 24, Jones Walker LLP announced that William Underwood has been appointed as head of the firm’s Atlanta office. William is a partner on the Construction Team and joined the firm as an associate in the litigation practice group in 2016. In his new role as head of the office, he will oversee the management and strategic expansion efforts for the firm’s office located in Buckhead.
