Virginia Business Announces 2026 Women in Leadership Awards

On August 11, Virginia Business has selected Angie Loew, the chief financial officer for Breeden Construction, as a 2026 Women in Leadership Awards recipient.

The Women in Leadership Awards celebrate top women executives for their overall professional accomplishments, civic engagement, mentorship and breaking glass ceilings. The honorees have consistently demonstrated remarkable leadership and integrity and make an impact on their community and/or Virginia as a whole.

As CFO for Breeden Construction, Loew is responsible for all financial oversight, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulations, overseeing audit and review functions and assisting the executive management team in establishing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Blank Rome Further Expands Construction, Infrastructure and Energy Platform With Partner Tarek F. Abdalla

On August 17, Blank Rome LLP was pleased to announce that Tarek F. Abdalla has joined the firm as a partner in its Business Litigation group, Construction & Infrastructure practice and Energy industry team. Abdalla joins the growing Construction & Infrastructure team that recently added partners Patrick D. Harder and Brandon J. Davis in Los Angeles and Justin N. Leonelli in Pittsburgh. Adballa comes to Blank Rome from Jones day. He and Harder will co-chair the firm’s Construction & Infrastructure practice.

Sims Crane & Equipment Names Katie MacGillivary Chief Financial Officer

On August 24, Sims Crane, a leading provider of crane, rigging and lifting solutions across the Southeast, announces Katie MacGillivary as its new chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.

MacGillivary brings 25 years of financial leadership experience to Sims Crane, with a proven track record of transforming financial operations and helping companies navigate significant growth, acquisitions and strategic transactions. Throughout her career, she has led numerous acquisitions, multiple exit processes and an initial public offering across industries including transportation, financing, logistics and energy.
