Parrot’s ANAFI Work 4K ultra-compact drone features a 4K HDR video, 21 MP high-resolution camera and three-axis stabilization system along with a controllable +/-90° tilt camera for inspecting under structures such as balconies or bridges with the Zenith view (+90°) and roofs with the Nadir view (-90°). The camera is also equipped with a lossless zoom of 1.4x in 4K, 2.8x in full HD (1080p) and up to 3x standard digital zoom. With the ANAFI Work, architects, roofers and construction workers can take accurate measurements, perform post-flight 3D inspections, share markers or 3D models directly using any web browser or preferred software.

Bosch’s BLAZE™ Outdoor GLM400CL Connected Laser Measure with Camera features an adjustable zoom camera to find the laser spot in bright conditions, up to 400 ft. Measurement documentation can be transferred to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth® with Bosch’s MeasureOn app. The outdoor laser measuring device provides default real-time length, length, area, volume and indirect measuring functions. A built-in inclinometer determines the angle of pitch and confirms when the tool is level. Users can see the last 50 measurements and can store over to 600 images.

senseFly’s fixed-wing drone, the eBee X, includes a range of camera options for land surveying and topographic mapping. These cameras include: senseFly S.O.D.A. 3D photogrammetry camera that captures digital 3D reconstructions in vertically-focused environments with Pix4Dmapper software; senseFly Aeria X compact photogrammetry camera with APS-C sensor with Smart Exposure technology; and senseFly Duet T dual-camera thermal mapping rig with high-resolution thermal infrared camera and a senseFly S.O.D.A. RGB camera with one-inch sensor. The eBee X is supplied with senseFly’s eMotion flight planning and data management software.

Software & In the Cloud

Newforma’s new project analytics platform connects multiple data sources and delivers live dashboards and reports with Newforma Trackers and Microsoft Power BI. Newforma’s Project Trackers, accessible via the Power BI portal or embedded into a locally accessible website, present cross-project reporting of key project information in a single view (e.g. RFIs, submittals, action items, file transfers, record documents, etc.). Newforma System Health Tracker, fed data by a custom Health Tracker Service, reports on information and issues such as indexing, project email, broken links and project email addressing for IT managers and administrators.

TENNA’s Driver Vehicle Inspection Report is supported by the latest IoT technology to optimize vehicle performance with digital maintenance reports. Drivers can complete and submit daily DVIRs via their smartphone. The app electronically details pre-trip and post-trip inspections, sends reports directly to fleet managers and stores reports for audits and record keeping.

eVolve Mechanical enables all skilled detailers to work together on the same file set for true collaboration. Using model-linked data, MEP systems automatically adjust and stay connected through all phases of collaboration. eVolve is a new sister company to Applied Software, an AEC, Construction, Fabrication and Manufacturing Systems Integrator. eVolve Electrical, built by electrical contractors for contractors, improves the prefab deliverable by translating the design model into the prefab kits, sheets and material listings.

The 2019 version of Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Fundamentals and Designer, BraceworksTM and Vision improves the 3D and BIM modeling, 2D documentation and presentation workflows for designers in the architecture, landscape, entertainment and interior design industries. Vectorworks Architect and Landmark offer 3D site model sculpting; ability to have BIM objects display with varying levels of detail in plan, elevation and section drawings; enhanced open BIM interoperability; and a new partnership integration with AutoTurn online for analyzing vehicle swept paths. Vectorworks Spotlight has My Virtual Rig (MVR) import and export file format, as well as enhancements to 3D modeling with Spotlight tools and commands.

Video & Cool Stuff

Terra Venture Partners, an Israeli venture capital fund, has invested in INTSITE, developers of an autonomous crane. Founded by brothers Tzach and Mor Ram-On, civil and aerospace engineers, INTSITE’s technology uses image processing and AIto analyze camera data in real-time to track workers and objects in the vicinity. INTSITE assists in avoiding collisions and accidents by warning the lever operator accordingly, while the automated control increases the crane’s throughput, driving efficiency and achieving earlier project completion.

Manitowoc Cranes has selected CM Labs to develop and deliver a series of CCS-driven Vortex Simulators that showcase Manitowoc’s intuitive new Crane Control System (CCS). Manitowoc’s CCS operating platform provides a common human-machine interface across multiple crane product lines. Each CCS unit features the same control layout, with standardized symbols, and is made up of several common components (crane controller, safety controller, small IO (input/output), large IO, joysticks, jog-dial and display).
