Members of Associated Builders and Contractors’ Florida East Coast Chapter give back to their communities in enormous ways.

Hensel Phelps aims to become part of the communities it serves, working together with friends and neighbors to enrich the lives of those around them, and make improvements that will remain long after a project is complete.

Telligent Masonry, LLC, Rockville, Maryland, has always considered charity to be a core component of its corporate structure, upholding that commitment for more than 62 years by giving back to communities in the greater Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area.

From the beginning, community service and charitable donations have been a staple of Smith Currie's philanthropic mission across their offices in Atlanta; San Francisco; Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Washington, D.C.

For 55 years, Buist Electric has been raising the standard in the electrical industry and in the community. Its mission statement, “To honor God in all we do, consider employees’ well-being as essential, provide customers with superior service and to share our resources with those in need,” is lived out daily for brothers Larry and Roger Buist, as well as their employees and families.

Nine years. $2.75 million in donations and services. 13,000 volunteer hours. Those are the latest tallies from KBE Building Corporation’s “50 Ways to Make A Difference” corporate philanthropy program.

One unique aspect of the RK Foundation is that it is funded by the company’s sustainability efforts. RK sells the tons of scrap metal it generates each year to recycling facilities, with 100 percent of the proceeds used to fund the foundation.
