The Safe and Healthy Construction Pledge

by | Jun 1, 2020

As the construction industry faces ongoing crises that will affect economic viability, project scheduling and hiring decisions, construction leaders have an enormous opportunity to make a difference within their circle of influence – whether that means providing the safest jobsites possible during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, or establishing trust with employees that are facing anxieties about the future.

The challenge is twofold. Employers must adhere to the most current CDC and OSHA-recommended protocols as they reopen and reengage with project owners during their business development and financial planning efforts. And, they must commit to supporting and protecting valuable employees as jobsites resume operations.

The one universal solution that all leaders can agree upon is the importance of human safety. Will you join us in signing the pledge? Visit safeandhealthyconstruction.org to add your name to the growing roster of companies that are committed to implementing a prevention, preparedness and response plan that includes practicable engineering and administrative control measures to prevent injuries and disease, and safeguard total human health.

Also, I hope you’ll take a look at the legal and risk management advice offered in this issue’s Construction Law Special Section, featuring The Top 50 Construction Law Firms. Having the counsel of an experienced legal ally has never been more crucial to business survival than right now.
