Stepping Up: Custom Coinbase Staircase in NYC

by | Mar 30, 2026

Coinbase's New York City office gets a custom upgrade with a sleek new central staircase.

Synergi has completed engineering and fabrication of a custom curved feature staircase for Coinbase’s New York City office.

Inside the new 67,000-square-foot office on Madison Avenue, a central architectural element connects multiple workplace levels and blends structural performance with sculptural design. Featuring curved glass guardrails, a fully helical wood handrail, white oak treads that transition into terrazzo flooring and precision-fabricated metalwork, the standout staircase showcases clean lines and a smooth rise.

3D modeling allowed Synergi—working alongside Studios Architecture and JRM Construction Management—to ensure precise combination of glass, wood and steel, as well as test a specific curve tolerance prior to fabrication. Completed inside the active office space on an accelerated timeline, the work demanded—and executed—exceptional creativity.
