Hourigan Strengthens Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing and Data Centers With Key Appointments

Feb. 26, 2025Hourigan is expanding its leadership team to support the firm’s growing presence in two of the region’s most technical and high-demand industries: advanced manufacturing and data centers. Hourigan has named Mark Hourigan Jr. to lead its advanced manufacturing and logistics sector and Mark Rainey to oversee its mission-critical and data center expansion.

These appointments build on Hourigan’s extensive track record in both industries, ensuring the firm continues to set the standard in these fast-growing industries for technical expertise, market knowledge and trends, and operational excellence.

McGough Announces CFO, Deputy General Counsel

March 6, 2025McGough is thrilled to announce the recent appointment of two current employees to key leadership positions within the company. Garrett Tvinnereim was named chief financial officer, and Jessi Wagner has been promoted to vice president and deputy general counsel.

In his new role as CFO, Tvinnereim will continue to oversee McGough’s financial planning and accounting teams, while spearheading initiatives to enhance the company’s financial operations and strengthen relationships with key external partners, including banks, surety providers and investment firms. His strategic mindset and focus on collaboration will play a vital role in positioning McGough for future opportunities.

Since joining McGough six years ago, Wagner has been a driving force in strengthening the legal and risk management functions, ensuring all teams are equipped to navigate the complexities of the growing business. Under her leadership, these teams have expanded significantly, including key attorney hires in the Dallas office and additional planned growth this year.

Leo Quinn to Step Down as Balfour Beatty CEO

March 7, 2025Leo Quinn, the CEO since 2015 of London-based construction giant Balfour Beatty, will step down from the position in September. He will remain on in an advisory capacity until his departure. He will be succeeded by Philip Hoare, chief operating officer of AtkinsRéalis, an engineering and nuclear services business based in Montreal.

Big-D Construction Promotes Trevor Hunsaker to President of Lindon Business Unit

March. 10, 2025Trevor Hunsaker has been promoted to president of Big-D Construction’s Lindon office, which includes Big-D’s Idaho Falls office. This leadership transition comes as the Lindon office celebrates 15 years of growth, strengthening Big-D’s presence in Utah County. As one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, Utah County is projected to lead Utah’s population growth over the next two decades.

Skanska Announces Promotions for its USA Civil Northeast Operations

March 11, 2025Skanska recently announced several promotions for the firm’s USA Civil operations in the Northeast:

John Crecco was appointed to the role of senior vice president of operations for Skanska USA Civil. With more than 30 years in the construction industry, Crecco has experience in intricate mechanical endeavors and large-scale infrastructure assignments and has overseen various specialized disciplines. During his tenure at Skanska, he has been integral to the Croton Water Filtration Plant project and the Interstate-4 Ultimate Project and is currently working on the JFK Airport Central Terminal Area Roadways, Utilities and Ground Transportation Project in Queens, New York.

Vincent Evola was elevated to senior vice president of operations for USA Civil’s New York and New Jersey operations. With a 30-year career in the construction industry, 24 of those with Skanska, he has previously served as Skanska Northeast’s chief of staff as well as vice president of operations. During this time, Evola managed an extensive portfolio of mega-projects including the Second Avenue Subway Launch Box & Tunnels, Hunts Point Roadways, Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Livingston Avenue Bridge Project.

Brian Reilly will now serve as senior vice president of operations. Reilly holds a wide-ranging skillset through his experience on numerous heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Northeast, including Corona Avenue Vortex Facility, Central Artery Project (“Big Dig”), World Trade Center Transportation Hub and Path Hall projects, and General Dynamics Electric Boat’s South Yard Assembly Building. He is currently working on the New Jersey Transit Portal North Bridge and Hillview Reservoir Project in Yonkers, New York.

Robert Coutts has been promoted to vice president of operations for the firm’s civil business unit in the New England region. With more than 40 years of construction management experience and a nine-year tenure at Skanska, Coutts has successfully delivered some of Massachusetts’ most significant and complex heavy civil and urban highway demolition projects, which includes the notable Immersed Tube Tunnel Project and the South Coast Rail Expansion Project.

Steve DelGrosso will be assuming the position of vice president of operations in the New England region. As a leader in heavy-civil design-build projects with a nine-year tenure at Skanska, he specializes in major bridge replacements, highways, tunnels and transit facilities. DelGrosso has successfully led six design-build projects for the company, notably the Route 146 Reconstruction in Rhode Island.

Additionally, Alexander Borovets has been promoted to chief engineer following eighteen years in Skanska’s engineering department in New York. Borovets oversees the engineering team, manages the planning, coordination and execution of engineering tasks, ensures strict adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, and supports all project teams in the region. In addition to his professional contributions, Borovets is a licensed professional engineer and active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Deep Foundations Institute.
