Urban Engineers Inc. recently completed construction management and inspection services for the $20.1-million rehabilitation of the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Bridge in Philadelphia. The 700-foot bridge, originally opened in 1966, now features three vehicle lanes and a 10.5-foot shared-use path connecting to the MLK Drive Trail. Upgrades included a widened concrete deck, structural steel and substructure repairs and new paint. The bridge’s reopening restores a vital connection in the city’s trail and transportation network.
