New U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad preserved natural landscapes and habitats while providing top-level security.

Situated in Hyderabad, India, the New U.S. Consulate General boasts a captivating, dramatic design in which architectural elements blend seamlessly with structural requirements.

Caddell Construction was responsible for the design and construction of the 217,000 square foot diplomatic complex that included state-of-the-art security, communications and information processing systems; multiple areas with advanced physical and technical security systems; and anti-terrorism and force protection measures. Among the extreme construction challenges faced by the team: logistical labyrinths, high-tech security, snakes and sacred rocks.

Primary components of the project included a new office building; several tiers of access-control pavilions; a new support annex and warehouse; a utility building; a recreational facility; and a marine security guard residence. The scope of work also included entrance and arrival plazas, courts, gardens, parking, roadways, community facilities and a covered walkway.
