The total value of merger and acquisition deals in the engineering and construction sector experienced a strong upswing in the final three quarters of 2017, according to PwC’s latest analysis. More than 2,500 deals took place last year with a total value of $93 billion, down slightly compared to 2016. The average deal size was $102 million, but 16 deals were valued at more than $1 billion.
Looking ahead—amid a growing global economy, increasing oil prices, government deregulation and favorable tax policy—PwC expects U.S. engineering and construction companies to be attractive targets for foreign acquirers in 2018.
