How do you make the most of virtual industry events?
We have actually gotten a lot of value from virtual industry events as I find that while the number of attendees is reduced, compared to traditional events of the past, the level of engagement is much higher and more valuable for those that embrace the virtual style. Essentially, they are much like the rest of life in that you get out of it what you put into it.
Do you feel like you achieved all your goals for 2020? If not, will you let go or continue the pursuit?
Our yearly goal at ACV is to achieve outsized growth while maintaining our industry-leading safety performance, which we achieved in 2020 in the face of this pandemic. Every facet of our company was tested this year in unimaginable ways, but I am so proud that ACV as a whole has thrived throughout the year and is heading into the new year full of momentum and stronger than ever.
What is your main goal for 2021?
To help the ACV team continue the trend of outsized year-over-year growth by continuing to solidify ACV as the environmental service provider and employer of choice, while maintaining our industry-leading safety culture.
If you could have lunch with one (deceased) person, who would it be?
That’s an easy one—my grandfather. Always the life of the party and quick with a story.
How do you wind down in your free time?
My free time is dominated by spending as much time as possible with my family. But I don’t know if trying to keep up with my seven-year-old can be considered “winding down.”
What is your biggest pet peeve?
The “noise.” People often become distracted by the “noise” when trying to solve a problem or take on an initiative instead of addressing the core issues.
What’s on your music playlist right now?
Dave Matthews has been a staple for a long time.
