Here are new apps for Hololens, data recovery and mobile intranet communication, along with a wearable alert tag and upper body exoskeleton. Just for fun, try out the turbo breaker hammer with GPS.

Apps

BIM Holoview app uses Microsoft Hololens to virtualize 3-D holographic images of Autodesk® Revit® and Navisworks® models for a realistic and accurate experience of design plans. Users can see the complete picture of a construction project from how a building will look from the outside to internal features such as pipes, ducts and reinforcing. The BIM Holoview application can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.

With Staffbase’s managed SaaS mobile intranet app, employees can digitally communicate and engage with one another via mobile devices or desktops. Standard app features include cafeteria menus, chat messaging, employee directories, event registration, maps, news channels, pulse surveys and integrations for HR services. The app can be configured with individually customized plugins and programming interfaces.

Products

Triax Technologies’ Spot-r EvacTag alerts workers to a jobsite evacuation in real-time. Integrated with Triax’s proprietary network and wearable clip, Spot-r EvacTag augments current evacuation procedures with a high-decibel, highly visible alert. Designated personnel can trigger each EvacTag on site simultaneously via the Spot-r dashboard. The Spot-r dashboard allows supervisors to account for real-time worker headcounts and locations during evacuations, via their Spot-r Clips, helping to ensure fast and safe egress.

Ekso Bionics’ EksoVest is an upper body exoskeleton that elevates and supports a construction worker’s arms to assist them with lifting tasks ranging from chest height to overhead. Weighing only 9.5 lbs., the vest enables workers to lift an additional 5 to 15 lbs. per arm for longer periods while enabling freedom of motion. Benefits of the vest include fewer onsite injuries and faster completion of tasks with higher quality results.

The Bosch GSH27-26 Brute™ Turbo Breaker Hammer with GPS tracking notifies users about activities such as non-working hour activation and non-authorized location use. A tracking feature, which reverts to cellular network coverage when GPS is unavailable, is managed through a free Bosch GPS tracking app. The breaker hammer’s custom cart doubles as a hammer hauler and a hand truck. Truck rails allow the cart to be raised or lowered easily from a truck.

Track employees’ usage of safety equipment with Credential Verification Service’s photo ID cards with QR code. Authorized employees scan their QR code to log checkouts of respirator masks, climbing harnesses or other safety equipment. The card also displays the employee’s past usage of safety equipment, which helps employers track usage of respirator masks.

Software & In the Cloud

Assemble Systems now integrates with Oracle’s Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management scheduling software, enabling construction managers to combine the baseline schedule and the BIM data to communicate construction sequencing to owners and other partners. The new integration will allow users to easily create simulations, cost-loaded schedules, micro-schedules and manage constant project changes.

Partnerships & Acquisitions

Laborocity (a merger of LaborOnDemand and GladlyDo) on-demand labor services serves the construction and other industries in the Northeast U.S. Businesses fill labor gaps online with pre-screened, qualified and insured workers instantly.

Mobile field management platform Fieldwire and Hilti Group, manufacturer and supplier of construction technology, have partnered to leverage digital and hardware technology to drive productivity on construction sites. The partnership will combine Fieldwire’s digital offering with the tools used on the construction site such as Hilti’s line of Rangemeters making it more easily accessible and valuable for the user.

Bentley Systems has acquired Mumbai-based concrete building design and documentation software company S-Cube Futuretech in order to expand its offerings in India, South East Asia and the Middle East. S-Cube Futuretech’s applications include RCDC, RCDC FE, RCDC Plan, and Steel Autodrafter documentation solutions for structural concrete building engineers and designers.
