Here's a rundown of the latest in construction technology and software.

Apps

United Rentals Mobile App tracks equipment in real time and provides access to actionable data. Users can track orders and deliveries, monitor utilization, see locations of rental equipment and extend equipment rentals. The app connects with United Rentals Total Control, a cloud-based worksite performance solution.

With GCP Applied Technologies mobile-optimized tool, briefcase, AEC professionals can create a personal briefcase in myBriefcase, add files such as BIM objects and organize construction docs. The briefcase can be added to a mobile device home screen.

Products

United Rentals’ United Academy safety training and operator certification program offers an updated Learning Management System for creating risk-based training plans by learner and worksite requirements. Companies can manage training certifications and create customizable compliance reports. The system also includes a Virtual Wallet Card with a digital link to store worker certifications, search the training catalog, review enrollments and consume eLearning courses.

Plexscape’s Plex.Earth® now includes Timeviews™, which makes up-to-date satellite imagery affordable and accessible within AutoCAD. With a strategic partnership with Bird.i, Plex.Earth Timeviews users have access to satellite imagery from commercial satellite providers such as Maxar Technologies/DigitalGlobe, Airbus and Planet.

Software & In the Cloud

Anvl’s workforce-first safety software helps companies predict and prevent workplace injuries and deaths using digital workflows, data analysis and real-time communication. Anvl’s Workforce safety app and communication platform turns safety inspections, assessments, checklists, observations, audits, permits and procedures into tailored dynamic workflows.

The Fiix CMMS helps maintenance teams organize assets, manage work, connect to other business systems and make data driven decisions. The software tracks and stores asset information and history; assigns and prioritizes work orders; scales across facilities and regions; and includes a mobile app.

Propeller helps civil construction to track job progress, monitor quality and resolve disputes. Using Propeller’s accurate 3D site surveys, worksites can track progress against design; generate cut and fill maps; and measure distances, grades and volumes.

RedTeam collaboration platform integrates with Sage’s end-to-end construction and property management software and enhances the Sage 100 Contractor and Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate experience for construction professionals. The integration comes as a result of RedTeam’s new partnership with hh2 Cloud Services, software experts for construction and real estate.

Trimble® XR10 with HoloLens 2 system, a worksite-ready mixed-reality solution, enables workers to visualize 3D data and integrates into an industry-standard hardhat. Trimble Connect™ for HoloLens cloud-based software for constructible 3D models and their associated data maximizes benefits of HoloLens 2.

IBM’s Maximo Asset Monitor, an AI-powered monitoring solution, unlocks essential insights with AI-powered anomaly detection and provide enterprise-wide visibility into equipment performance. Companies can aggregate data from all brands of equipment and combine it with advanced predictive analytics and AI to identify operational patterns.

Partnerships & Acquisitions

The combination of Sensera’s crane mounted cameras and Reconstruct’s ‘Visual Command Center’ enables seamless 3D overlays, analysis, detection and insights. The integration between Reconstruct™ and Sensera Systems allows for the automatic push of captured images from Sensera’s SiteCloud® platform into Reconstruct’s ‘Visual Command Center.’ Reconstruct transforms these site images into point clouds, where drawings can then be aligned and overlaid against photos.
