Here’s a look at employment moves that occurred in the construction industry this month.

American Contracting & Environmental Services

Gary Cidre, Grant Pierce and Kayla Matis were promoted to senior project engineers of American Contracting & Environmental Services (ACE). In addition, Nicholas Heath was promoted to project manager and Tyrus Hunter was promoted to business development executive. ACE is a general contractor based in Columbia, Maryland.

American Society of Safety Professionals

Morgan Bliss was named the American Society of Safety Professionals’ (ASSP) 2021 William E. Tarrants Outstanding Safety Educator. Bliss is a widely respected professor in the occupational safety and health field and member of the ASSP for 11 years. ASSP has been at the forefront of helping occupational safety and health professionals protect people and property for more than 100 years.

Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa

Jim Baty was named Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa’s 2020-2021 Larry Meisner Contractor of the Year award winner. Baty, along with his son John Baty, is the owner of Baty Electric, a Moravia, Iowa-based electrical contractor.

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP

Jennifer Morrison Ersin joined Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP (Bradley) as counsel in its Construction Practice Group. Ersin represents clients in arbitrations in all sectors, including construction, natural resources and agribusiness. Bradley has nearly 550 lawyers representing regional, national and international clients in various industries, including construction, energy and manufacturing.

Erhardt Construction

James Balk joined Erhardt Construction as residential project manager, and will manage projects such as transformative home renovations with custom furniture and cabinetry, and new construction of high-end West Michigan homes. Erhardt Construction is a general contractor, construction management and design/build firm.

Hoar Construction

Seth Sargent joined Hoar Construction as vice president of health care, and will grow the firm’s health care footprint in new and existing markets. Hoar Construction specializes in commercial, industrial, health care, government, cultural/entertainment, education, residential, hospitality and retail/mixed use construction.

J.S. Held

Frank Holder was named chief operating officer of J.S. Held, a global, multi-disciplinary consulting firm. J.S. Held recently acquired Berkeley Research Group’s non-U.S. Global Investigations Practice, which will result in more than 30 investigative experts and support staff joining J.S. Held from Miami, London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore, Tokyo, Mexico City and Panama.

Kaufman Lynn Construction

Russell Anderson joined Kaufman Lynn Construction as executive vice president of preconstruction and Jason Patrizi was named senior vice president of operations. Kaufman Lynn Construction is a full-service construction manager and general contractor providing services for public and private clients throughout Florida, North Carolina and Texas.

Old Republic Surety Co.

Thomas A. Littlefield was named vice president—director, large accounts of Old Republic Surety Co., the nationwide surety carrier that is part of Old Republic International Corp. Old Republic Surety Co. is an underwriter of contractors’ performance and payment bonds, miscellaneous surety and commercial fidelity, offering thousands of types of bonds.

TDIndustries

Gary Roden was promoted to vice president of design-build business for TDIndustries, Inc. (TD). TD is an employee owned, full-service mechanical company serving the Southwest that recently celebrated its 75th anniversary.

VEIT

Kelly Veit will succeed Vaughn Veit as chief executive officer of VIET. Kelly is the first female CEO in the company’s history. Veit is a specialty contracting and waste management firm that manages commercial, municipal and industrial construction projects across the Midwest.
