Here’s a look at employment moves that occurred in the construction industry this month.
Aronson
Troy Cornell was named business development manager of Aronson, a nationally ranked top 100 assurance, tax and consulting firm. Cornell leads business development for Aronson’s Construction and Real Estate Group. In addition, Aronson is celebrating 60 years in business. Since 1962, the company has expanded its service offerings and deepened its industry specialties to better serve the needs of its clients, people and community.
Associated Builders and Contractors
Deborah Maus was hired as the next president/CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors, Northern California Chapter (ABC NorCal). Maus is a Certified Association Executive with more than 25 years of strategic and operational leadership.
Michele Daugherty, the former ABC NorCal president/CEO, transitioned to the ABC Central Florida Chapter as president/CEO, continuing her more than 16 years of service with ABC.
In addition, Marc Bialek was named president of the ABC Rhode Island Chapter.
Big-D Construction
John Kemp joined the Big-D Family of Companies as vice president of Big-D Lindon in Utah. Trevor Hunsaker was promoted to vice president/managing director of Big-D Lindon. Kemp and Hunsaker have been with Big-D for 15 years. Big-D Companies serves customers through a family of constructions firms operating in 14 offices in eight states.
Billd
Devon Choo was named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Billd, a provider of material financing and other payment solutions for commercial subcontractors. Choo joins Billd with nearly 20 years of experience in business development, product management and strategic management across several prominent companies.
JE Dunn Construction
Zach Gates joined JE Dunn Construction as client solutions manager and is responsible for business development in the Florida market. Gates is a construction industry veteran and will head JE Dunn’s efforts to build long-term strategic relationships with clients in the commercial office, multifamily, hospitality and health care markets. JE Dunn provides construction management services through 24 offices nationwide and self-performs services in select locations.
JLL
Josephine Tucker was hired as managing director of JLL’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Advisory team. JLL’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Advisory services help clients address aging infrastructure. Tucker has more than 15 years of domestic and international infrastructure experience and has spearheaded numerous strategic business initiatives across the transportation, energy, water and real estate sectors. JLL is s professional services firm that specializes in real estate and investment management.
Kaufman Lynn Construction
Scott Gasaway was named Kaufman Lynn Construction’s regional senior vice president for North Carolina operations. Gasaway’s construction management career has spanned more than 25 years in the public and private sectors. Kaufman Lynn Construction is a full-service construction manager and general contractor providing services for a wide variety of public and private clients throughout Florida and North Carolina.
NCCER
Tim Taylor, P.E, Ph.D., was named director of research for NCCER, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation created by the construction industry to develop standardized curriculum and assessments with portable credentials and certifications for skilled craft professionals. NCCER’s research department aims to bring more awareness and prestige to construction craft careers by establishing NCCER as the source for research on the industry workforce.
Poettker Construction
Founder and CEO of Poettker Construction Charles “Chuck” Poettker passed suddenly in 2021, sparking an expedited strategic succession plan and restructuring of the company’s executive leadership team.
Keith Poettker was named chairman and CEO; Ryan Poettker was named president; Kimberly Luitjohan was named executive vice president and CFO; and Jonathon Carroll was named executive vice president and COO. In addition, Philip Pingsterhaus was named vice president (VP) of finance, Tracy Millard was named VP of human resources, Eric Kraeger was named VP of information technology, Kevin Poettker was named VP of business development, Corey Noder was named VP of risk management and Walker Gusewelle was named VP of project management.
Rockford Construction
Shane Napper was named chief operating officer of Rockford Construction. Napper will continue to serve as the president of construction, while also assuming his new role as COO over all Rockford service groups. As COO, Napper will be tasked with driving collaboration, innovation and integration of all Rockford services. Rockford Construction is a construction, real estate development and property management firm that recently earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s Legacy Award for the renovation of its downtown Grand Rapids, Mich., headquarters.
Schimenti Construction Company
Oliver Holland joined Schimenti as senior director, project management—bringing more than 15 years of experience in international construction management. Holland will oversee Schimenti’s project delivery across several key sectors, including retail, hospitality and commercial real estate. Schimenti is construction firm operating nationally across the retail, hospitality, commercial and industrial sectors.
Stellar Industrial Solutions
Chase A. Sly, PE, was hired as director of engineering for Stellar Industrial Solutions, the industrial refrigeration arm of Stellar. In addition, Randy Theen, PE, was named executive vice president of Stellar Industrial Solutions. Stellar is a fully integrated firm focused on design, engineering, construction, refrigeration and mechanical services worldwide.
TDIndustries
Alan Quintero joined TDIndustries’ Board of Directors, bringing decades of experience as a senior business, operations and business development executive. Most recently, he was senior vice president, business development and senior vice president and chief technology officer at Valaris, one of the world’s largest offshore drilling companies. TDIndustries is a facilities service and mechanical construction company serving the Southwest.
Western Specialty Contractors
Jason Paoli was hired as regional business development manager for Western Specialty Contractors in Chicago. Paoli is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and identifying and developing new clients throughout the Chicago region. Western Specialty Contractors is a family-owned and operated specialty contractor focusing on masonry and concrete restoration, waterproofing and specialty roofing.
