Here’s a look at employment moves that occurred in the construction industry this month.
American Rental Association
Josh Nickell joined the American Rental Association (ARA) to lead program development and member engagement for the equipment segment of ARA’s membership. Also, James Auerbach joined ARA as event segment leader, where he will support the event segment and lead member engagement and strategic program development. ARA is an international trade association for owners of equipment, and event rental businesses, as well as the manufacturers and suppliers of construction/industrial, general tool and party/event rental equipment.

Jacobsen Construction Company
Gary Ellis was unanimously selected to serve as Jacobsen Construction Company’s president and CEO by the firm’s Board of Directors, effective Jan. 1, 2021. Previously, Ellis was president of the company. Ellis will replace former CEO Douglas C. Welling, who is retiring after 33 years with Jacobson, but will remain on the company’s Board. Jacobsen is a 100% employee-owned, ESOP company that is consistently ranked as one of the top contractors in the country, as well as one of the nation’s Top 100 Green Contractors.
Ruppert Landscape
Cid Wilson of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility and John C. Wagner of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently were appointed to join Ruppert Landscape’s Board of Directors. Ruppert is an industry-leading provider of commercial landscape construction and management services.
Venable LLP
Partners Kenneth M. Roberts, Heidi Hennig Rowe and Mark C. Friedlander joined Venable in its new Chicago office. Partners James E. Frankel, Brian G. Lustbader and Gary L. Rubin—as well as Senior Counsels Peter J. Kiernan and Sayward “Woody” Mazur—joined the firm’s New York office. Partner Amanda Schermer MacVey joined Venable’s Washington, D.C. office.
