The number of construction businesses formed in 2017 grew 72.3 percent compared to 2016, making it the fastest growing industry in the United States, according to new report from Swyft, which provides filing and compliance guidance to tens of thousands of companies in all 50 states. The construction growth rate is nearly twice the total growth (42.1 percent) when looking across all industries in Swyft’s database. Additionally, construction moved from the fourth largest to third largest industry in total number of new business filings, trailing behind only retail and consulting in total volume.
