Best of the Best: ABC’S 2025 Construction Workforce Awards

by | Jun 9, 2025

One is a veteran who says he’s learned more about leadership by listening than he ever has by talking. Another started out as a craftsman before realizing that his true passion was actually teaching his trade. And the third is a seasoned craft pro who wants his team to know that the sky’s the limit when it comes to their future in the construction industry.

These industry-leading professionals are the 2025 recipients of ABC’s Construction Workforce Awards, presented at ABC Convention 2025 in February. Each year, the CWAs honor individuals who have played a critical role in shaping the future of the industry in three categories:

Young Professional of the Year: Sponsored by Procore, the Young Professional award recognizes someone under the age of 40 who is dedicated to the merit shop and is a natural leader and top performer in their field, based on career achievement, leadership and vision for the future of the commercial and industrial construction industry.

Craft Instructor of the Year: Sponsored by the National Center for Construction Education and Research and Tradesmen International, the Craft Instructor award recognizes an instructor who possesses outstanding creativity, a positive attitude and the ability to transfer knowledge through communications skills and innovative teaching to promote lifelong learning to the future construction workforce.

Craft Professional of the Year: Sponsored by NCCER and Tradesmen International, the Craft Professional award recognizes a construction craft professional who excels in their field, demonstrates a passion for the trades, exhibits outstanding leadership qualities and demonstrates a commitment to safety, education and the merit shop philosophy.
If this is the future of the industry, construction is on the right track. Just flip through the following pages and you’ll see—things are looking bright.
