    Ryan Smith, CSP, led the trial of worker monitoring devices during the summer of 2020. The Kenzen devices monitored key physiological indicators of workers, detecting changes in these factors that can lead to proactive prediction and prevention of heat injuries, illnesses and fatalities. Garney Construction, based in North Kansas City with a singular focus on water and wastewater construction, is always interested in keeping its employee-owners as safe as possible on the job. Founded in 1961, Garney has 18 regional offices across the U.S. and is owned by its 1,600 employees.
