Troake Group Limited took on Phase 2 and 3 of the redevelopment of the Half Moon Bay Marina in New Zealand. The multifaceted project was successfully completed with the use of technology.

Troake Group Limited (TGL) is a family-owned New Zealand company that focuses on interior solutions, ceilings and partitions for commercial and residential buildings. More than two decades ago, Vince and Victoria Troake formed TGL with the goal of being an industry leader and providing the highest quality customer service. TGL hires the best people in the industry in order to help with this endeavor. In 2010, TGL was recognized with the Massey University Excellence in Sustainability Award. As a boutique firm specializing in light commercial buildings and high-end residential homes, TGL succeeds in producing high-quality work by taking hold of the safety and well-being of jobsite employees. TGL fully implements current safety standards to meet contractor needs through its expansion into the area of scaffolding and rigging.

Redevelopment Project

The vision for the redevelopment of the Half Moon Bay Marina (HMBM) began in 2007. The multi-phase project started with the demolition of the existing retail and commercial complex. Multiple two-story buildings replace the original 1976 freestanding structures. Due to TGL’s reputation, contractors tend to directly request their services for negotiated projects. TGL was involved in Phases 2 and 3 of the construction of HMBM, completing the work for gypsum board and suspended ceilings. The original build was a basic build-out. As tenants moved into the facilities, a number of revisions for fit-out requests were given to TGL. This made the job multifaceted and quite large considering the number of unique retail spaces, restaurants and medical facilities. One of the anchor components of the HMBM is the more than 12,000-square-foot Fresh Choice Supermarket. TGL also completed fit-outs for businesses that meet the needs of customers and the local community making use of the marina and other marina-oriented services. The Marina Medical Rooms added another facet of work for TGL that enabled it to demonstrate its quality of work—critical for patients needing medical attention at Half Moon Bay.

Developing High Standards

TGL’s professional expertise lies in gypsum board, insulation and painting. The company delivers a vast offering to its customers, including an expansion into scaffolding and rigging. The recent trend of “talent flight” has seen construction tradesmen moving to other locations. TGL hires top talent from the industry and further develops their skills so they continue excelling in their career. TGL has proved to be dedicated to its staff by providing ongoing training and membership to industry associations. Always at the forefront of technology advances and new industry initiatives, TGL relies on On Center Software solutions for improved accuracy, cost reduction and timed saved.
