Apps

Schneider Electric Mobile App for Aging Electrical Distribution Equipment
Schneider Electric_AppSchneider Electric’s Services Modernization Solution Selector mobile application provides advanced search capabilities for facility personnel looking to replace or upgrade switchgear and other electrical distribution equipment. The solution selector searches an extensive database of direct replacement designs for a number of manufacturers and provides a searchable product catalog with information on a circuit breaker’s direct replacement design; photographs, data sheets and technical specifications for the direct replacement design and brochures on custom solutions; and customizable user profiles that store and remember circuit breakers and other solutions per profile. Software

Is Software Making an Impact on Construction? Procore/Capterra Survey Says Yes
Procore Survey InfographicProcore and Capterra conducted a survey to find out if software is finally making an impact on the construction industry and the true value of construction management software. Key findings include:

  • Half (52 percent) of the respondents work for a firm that uses construction management software.
  • 67 percent of respondents said that they saw a 25 percent to 100 percent increase in sales by adopting construction management software.
  • Construction managers who don’t use construction project software end up wasting two or more hours per day on project documentation (37 percent).
  • Most users (58 percent) who switched to construction software reduced their printing costs by more than half.
  • Seventy-nine percent of construction managers say construction management software decreases the amount of time it takes to complete a project.
In an industry where project management software is still being adopted (the construction industry is said to be split 50/50 on embracing the latest technologies), this trend study is one of the first that shows the true value of innovative construction management technology. More results are shown in an infographic.

CMD Insight Platform Integrates Google Maps
CMD FAICMD, a provider of construction information, upgraded its Forecast, Analyze and Intelligent Leads products on the Insight platform to include enhanced search capabilities for more than 800,000 construction project leads, easier grids to compare data, in-depth filtering and a fully integrated and interactive Google Maps feature to pinpoint job opportunities. With the Forecast product, users see detailed views of construction activity including historical data, current-year projections and a five-year forecast with “percentage change” between periods. Analyze, designed to track specification share among competitors, offers new construction stage and customer admin features. The enhanced project stage filter allows users to filter project results by planning, bidding, post-bid and more. Leads, which provides information about commercial construction projects from inception to completion, has five new project filters (postal code radius, number of floors, floor area, document type and project status to help refine searches and pinpoint specific projects) and integrates with Google Maps.
