Apps

GCP Applied Technologies’ mobile app calculates dosage rates for STRUX® 90/40 macrosynthetic fibers for use in concrete applications. Users select the application method such as slab on ground, elevated composite deck or septic tank, then the GCP Macrosynthetic Fiber Calculator guides them through the criteria to determine the appropriate dosage rate to replace traditional steel reinforcement for temperature and shrinkage crack control.

Workvivo's employee communication app helps create a sense of community, culture alignment and employee recognition. The app can be used for analytics and pulse surveys, solidify corporate culture by enabling employees to associate their posts and content to company goals and values, and acknowledge good news and employee success.

Products
Epiroc’s HATCON remote monitoring device for Epiroc’s breakers and drum cutters tracks location and operating hours and sends notifications about service, creates task lists and provides an overview of the entire fleet. It’s available factory mounted or as a retrofit kit.

Samsara’s J1939 heavy equipment cable connects all yellow iron to the cloud and tracks real-time GPS, engine performance and diagnostic data. The cable consolidates data from all makes and models of heavy equipment in the cloud captures fuel level, DEF level and coolant temp for equipment management decisions.

Topcon Positioning Group’s machine control solutions include tilt rotator functionality for the automatic excavator system, mobile and BYOD display options. With advanced tilt rotator functionality, automatic excavator operators can swivel or tilt the bucket with automatic boom control. BYOD for small excavator and compact track loader machine control substitutes for control boxes in some applications. This solution incorporates Pocket-MC, which allows for a local positioning system option.

Software & In the Cloud

Sage Intacct Construction’s cloud financial management solution builds construction management functionality of Sage 300 Construction (formerly Sage Timberline) onto the Sage Intacct multi-tenant cloud platform. Construction financial managers can track and manage costs and productivity in real time.

Trimble is on a roll with its Earthworks Grade Control Platform 2.0, which features AR on excavator in-cab displays along with integrated Trimble LOADRITE Payload Management display. Other Trimble announcements include a new Platform as a Service for construction technology and Trimble® WorksOS; SaaS operating system that integrates data from Trimble; and third-party providers across the entire civil construction project lifecycle, including estimating, scheduling, designs and the field.

Partnerships & Acquisitions

Dynapac and Trimble are partnering to develop commercial-ready autonomyfunctionality for Dynapac soil rollers. Dynapac’s SEISMIC Soil Rollers monitor soil properties and automatically adjust the frequency of vibration. The next step is automatic steering and speed functions to map the boundaries of the area to be compacted. Once the machine is in “autonomy” mode, the system will take over the controls for steering and speed. The autonomous solution is built on Trimble’s control platform and utilizes Trimble’s field-proven positioning technology.

Bridgit now integrates with Procore so users can import projects from their Procore account into the Bridgit Bench resource planning tool. Bridgit and Procore partnered last year to bring the Bridgit Bench Embedded App to Procore users. With the new Bridgit Bench integration app, Bridgit users can import Procore projects to eliminate context switching between multiple web browser windows to access projects and push project data—including project name, start and end date.
